| Description: | Onaway offers a full program of scheduled
activities which include swimming, canoeing, sailing and crew, balanced with woodworking,
sewing, ceramics, dance and drama. There is excellent tennis instruction and a strong trip
program offering backpacking and white water canoe trips. All of this takes place in a seven week session within a traditional structure which is non-competitive and strives to help each girl realize her potential. Counselors are usually alumnae or other highly qualified, certified young women. The ratio is three to four campers to one counselor. The emphasis at Onaway, as it has been since 1911, is on fun, friendship, responsibility and commitment to the community. |
