Lions Camp Pride
CAMP PRIDE DIRECTOR
Camp Pride is a 501 (c) 3 camp for individuals with special needs located at Merry Meeting Lake in New Durham, New Hampshire. Lions Camp Pride has been owned and operated by the 36 Lions Clubs of Eastern New Hampshire (Lions District 44H) since 1989. The camp is licensed by the State of New Hampshire, and is accredited by the American Camp Association. Camp Pride is also a member of the Conference of Lions Camps in the United States and the NH Camp Directors Association.
Compensation:
Camping Season: $825 per week from April 9, 2012 to September 29, 2012 and
Off Season: $400 per month for 20 to 30 hours per month from October 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.
Responsibility and Duties:
- Interface with the lease groups , pre, on site and post camping week
- Help develop new camping groups
- Provide inputs to the BOD on budget, repairs, needs, camp groups, monitor summer operation cost and fundraising.
- Coordinate with the BOD on the lease group contracts and insurance coverage
- Hire fire and manage the summer work force.
- Communicate with the BOD President, Secretary and Treasurer
- Keep the camp operations compliant with the ACA requirements.
- Prepare the camp for spring opening, group arrivals and closing in the fall.
- Write and prepare the Camp Quarterly Newsletter
- Comply with National, State and New Durham licensing and other Requirements
- Attend monthly BOD meetings

Marine Safety Services for Summer Camps for 2011
NHCDA and the New Hampshire Department of Safety (Marine Patrol) endeavor to provide timely and efficient opportunities for New Hampshire summer camps to have their motorized watercraft inspected and registered as well as for camp staff to attain their Commercial Boat Drivers License. The following outlines our approach for the 2011 season.
Commercial Boat Inspections

Regional sites for camps in June
Monday June 6 Deerwood on Squam Lake in Holderness
Tuesday June 7 Tevya on Lake Potanipo in Brookline
Wednesday June 8 Belknap on Winnipesaukee in Tuftonboro
Monday June 13 Brookwoods/Deer Run onWinnipesaukee in Alton
Tuesday June 14 Huckins on Ossipee Lake in Freedom
Wednesday June 15 Pasquaney on Newfound Lake in Hebron
Wednesday June 22 Merriwood in Orford
- On-site at your camp
Depending on attendance at regional sites (above), time may be available to visit camps local to the regional site. Hourly fee and mileage would apply.
Available by appointment at your camp after June 26 at no charge or for a fee of $180 if prior to June 26 if unable to attend at prescribed sites as outlined above. Hardship must be demonstrated.
- Attendance Criteria
Boat registrations must be submitted to DMV in Concord at least two weeks prior to inspection date…so there is time to process paperwork and courier to Marine Patrol headquarters in Gilford
Must notify Marine Patrol at least one week in advance of inspection site choice…so they can schedule your visit and be sure to have your boat registration when you arrive
Note: camps may motor to sites on inspection date even though boat is unregistered

- Attendance Criteria
Commerical Boat License applications must be submitted to DMV in Concord at least two weeks prior to test date. Note: they are willing to process application without signature.
Must notify Marine Patrol at least one week in advance of testing site choice
- Retest Date…for those who failed on the first try
Friday June 10 and Thursday June 30 at Marine Patrol Headquarters in Gilford
May be able to accommodate some first time testers on June 30. May be able to accommodate re-tests on June 16.
